Vivid Smoke was first launched in 2009 as an online retailer offering electronic cigarettes. The primary products offered was the Joye 510 ecig available in limited color selections. It was introduced by partners who were impressed by its technology to help them and friends to deter themselves from smoking.

The website was first built off of an OSCommerce platform and the online store was around for approximately 1-2 years. A few years passed and in late 2013, the store was “rebooted” with completely new product catalog and website revamp.

The website was developed using a different platform with many modifications to favor the customers with benefits for customers and efficiency on the client side. The earlier stages also included photographs, social media images, and other photo edits through ModSession. Today, individual team members currently work closely with the company on their social media, SEO and other minor services.

About this project

The goal was to provide something that stood out among its competitors. This meant, latest web trends such as being mobile responsive, high quality images, fluid navigation, customer benefits, and much more.

The developmental phase was a careful process that required approximately six months to complete. Every detail and aspect of the website went through frequent trial and error with other team members contributing in their efforts to create a presentable website.

Some notable features was a unique sales promotion, coupon and rewards system. The sales promotion feature allowed a plethora of capabilities to promote sales on products. For instance, buy one get 10% off, or item sale every Tuesdays. The enhanced rewards program offered customers to accumulate rewards points and redeem them towards future purchases.

One of the things that made Vivid Smoke a unique project was it being one of the first clients to go “all out.” This enabled buffing up the website with SEO simultaneously, making the web development and SEO tuning a breeze. The final task was to create marketing campaigns and spread the word through social media.
